Actually I'm neither one nor the other, I'm the poor victim and slave of these two and I will stay.. No one told you you are the victim, you just are well on your role of victim because you do not really want to make a next step of your life, too afraid of losing your souvenirs and not getting a better present, but is you present a meaningful one.....that is the question you need to answer to. But for what? to have the same reasons and defects which lead you to what you are today...? What you should look for is not come back to who you were, but recreate yourself mentally and physically....that is a new start with a better equipped soul that won´t do the same mistakes....
