You are right admino

The present tense is not suitable for this sentence, the past tense is...

unless it's an absolute truth, what the author said

Since you know English, it would have been better to say that "I've got a question" was neither wrong nor formal.

Anyway, what did the author say?

Non !! Je suis un analphabète quadrilingue.:p

I don't care about what the author said, I do only care about what I said.

I did say, or I did write, that the verb ''to mention'' in the present tense is not suitable for quoting the author, unless his words are Qora'n verses, you can't use the present tense.

What do you exactly mean by "is not suitable"? Does this suggest that it's completly wrong? Would you maintain that the sentence is to be 100% rejected?

And what about Admino? Is he right when he says that "I've got" is formal/wrong? I'm asking you cause I guess you do care about what he said (not only what you say!) since you intervened to say he was right...;)

No, I can't say that '' I've got a question'' is wrong, neither ''I've a question''

I think, It's just formal and informal english, that's it.:D

Admino wouldn't dare ban you! Your interventions and views seem to be nearly the same as his :p. Expect for your sens of humour (as well as your English).

sucker punch! :D

btw, if you don"t mind me asking, I always feel as you think in french while you are writing a sentence? I'm probably wrong but it feels like french translations

Not always. I do not necessarily translate sentences from French. It's just a feeling, but it happens as I'm better in French than in English. I guess this is something normal...

You've got WHAT? An emptinesse? The void? I gave you many examples, even a book cover, but you still continue as if you were right. Which you're not and you know it.

Spare me your so-called "correction". I'm certainly far better than you in English. I can say it given the current discussion.

That's so true that it took you almost 20 minutes to write thee words. :mdr:

Would you like me to correct your other mistakes, not to mention the typos ?! :D

Don't be ashamed, this is not meant to offend you, as I said, I'm here to teach you :D

Nope! In fact it took me less than that and I've written more than three words. Aren't you tired with your "truths" that are mere thoughts in your head?
