djamine 10 Posted September 3, 2008 Partager Posted September 3, 2008 Yes, really I’m so delighted (so pleased ) by your welcoming (you and djamal2008). This encourages me to be as positive as possible to do well to this forum! And I wonder -as a first lesson from me- if any one of you partners knows what means: OPSHACOM (word order) its quiet important!! Saha ftorkoum good bye and enjoy your meal(bonne appetit) There is a rule for everything: for the word order in english is OPSHACOM. Ok if we say a lovely large old wood house!! Many says that it’s the same when we say : old lovely large wood house but no it’s wrong. Because we must follow this rule of word order that is : OPSHACOM i.e: - OP= opinion (lovely) in the sentence below! - SH= shape(large). - A = age (old). - C = coulour ( you can add a coulour ) - O = origin (gothic for example). - M =material(wood). Thank you and remember that everything has a rule!! :p Citer
djamal 2008 10 Posted September 3, 2008 Partager Posted September 3, 2008 Common mistakes in pronunciation : People tend to pronounce the G in verbs ending with ing : like having or loving. Wrong, it should not be, that's why it is common to see written : havin' or lovin'. Also, "of" is to be pronouced ov, the f sound is found in off as in cut off or take off. finally, the L in walk, talk , balk is never to be pronounced. Go to answer.com to hear the correct pronuntiation. Citer

Because over here in Algiers, temperatures are reaching an all-time high as a suffocating heat wave has hit the area. Citer

Ryline 10 Posted September 8, 2008 Partager Posted September 8, 2008 I think tht I've yet read this rule  twice I've not understand both times  Hello dear angel ! It's easy : you just need to remember "OPSHACOM" (the grammatical order). For example, if you want to say "une vieille chaise jaune", you have "veille" = age of the chair (like the "A" in OPSHACOM) and you have "jaune" = the colour of the chair (the "C" in OPSHACOM). To translate you should say "an old yellow chair" because in OPSHACOM the "A" (old) is before the "C" (yellow). You understand ? Citer
