What, in particular, did you like in my English?! ;)

I've liked that post ===>

Everything can be seen to be special! every piece of information you share with others can be special. every subject of discussion can be considered special.

I'm giving you the driving seat!

And the capital letters and the comma ;)

she can say what ever she wants .. she's our yanate :04:

I thought this is a subject devoted to English.

More than that, you never told me who Yanate is! If she is that special then fine, so be it. ;)

Cheers!

Yes please. We never stop learning!

I learned English in school (university). I started when i was 20!

I use it everyday for business since 5 years.

- First, for the irregular verb, it's to learn, I learnt, learnt.

- It's AT school

- You HAVE started because it's carry on

- SINCE is for a date, a starting point. When you have a period you have to choose FOR.

:) I'm not better than you, but together we can do something !

Well, Thank you for bringing the subject up. As you said, together we get better!

For the first one, Honestly I did not know that we can say "Learnt". I just learned it from you. However, it happens that "learned" is also correct and easier for pronounciation. In English (As well as other languages), it is hard to pronounce a voiceless sound (like the "t") after a voiced sound (like the "n"). Actually this is the reason why the "ed" is pronounced "t" in verbs ending in a voiceless sound. Examples are: Talk (Talked and pronounced Takt), Work (Worked and pronounced Workt).

For the second, "In" vs "at". "at" is used when refering to a specific place, location. for example if I said: I learned English in Boumerdes university this would be wrong because "boumerdes university" is a specific place. I sould have said: I learned english at Boumerdes university. However, since I did not mean any specific school/university then "in" is the right word to use. The meaning is that i learned it in school and not in the street!

For the third one, the simple past can be used no problem.

For the fourth one, "since" you might be right. I need to review this.

Thank you very much. ;)
